Todd R. Manes, 46, of Beatrice, Nebraska, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at Bryan Medical Center East Campus. Born October 16, 1979, in Beatrice to Ron and Jan (Dusenbery) Manes, Todd lived a life marked by hard work, loyalty, and a deep love for family and community. A proud member of the Beatrice High School class of 1998, he went on to earn a degree in Criminal Justice from Southeast Community College, preparing him for a career of service and dedication.
Todd worked alongside his mother at K & B Tobacco before joining the United States Postal Service, where he faithfully served for the past year and a half. His commitment to his work was evident, completing his final route before his passing. Todd was also a proud member of the Eagles Club in Beatrice, where he found camaraderie and friendship. He enjoyed bowling, darts, softball, and cheering for his favorite teams—the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Bears. Known for his friendly smile and easygoing nature, Todd had a gift for making others feel welcome and valued.
Family was at the center of Todd’s life. He is survived by his children, Boston and Brealyn Manes, and their mother, Kelsi of Beatrice. He also leaves behind his parents, Ron (Ann) Manes and Jan (Karlo) Albert of Beatrice; his half‑brother, Chad Manes of Omaha; and his significant other, Emily Forney of Beatrice. Todd’s extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends will forever remember his warmth, humor, and the joy he brought into their lives.
Todd’s life was enriched by his love of animals, especially his dogs Trooper, Pooter, and Bear, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his grandparents, Doris Wade, Richard “Dick” Wade, and Hap and Elva Dusenbery, as well as his uncle, Byron “Brad” Manes. His family takes comfort in knowing he is reunited with loved ones who went before him.
A Celebration of Todd’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Centenary United Methodist Church of Beatrice with Rev. Dr. Paixao Baptista and Connie Carpenter officiating. A family prayer service will be held at 1:45 P.M. at the church. Burial will follow at Blue Springs Cemetery.
Closed casket visitation will be Thursday, April 9, from 10:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M., with the family greeting relatives and friends from 5:30 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established by the family for a future designation, honoring Todd’s legacy of kindness and community.
