Chloe Jane Paulson, 16, of Sterling, Nebraska, passed away tragically on Monday afternoon, March 23, 2026, as the result of a motor vehicle accident. Born March 16, 2010, in Fargo, North Dakota, to Jon and Lydia (Burd) Paulson, Chloe’s life, though heartbreakingly short, was filled with joy, accomplishment, and love. She was a bright young woman whose presence brought energy and warmth to her family, friends, and community.
Chloe was a dedicated student at Sterling Public School, where she earned honor roll recognition and was admired for her commitment to learning. She was active in many school activities, including volleyball, basketball, speech, band, choir, and cheerleading. Her enthusiasm and spirit shone through in everything she did, whether on the court, in the classroom, or on stage. Chloe’s peers and teachers will remember her as a vibrant, talented, and kindhearted young woman who inspired others with her determination and positivity.
Beyond her school achievements, Chloe’s greatest joy was found in her family. She shared a close bond with her parents, Jon and Lydia, and her brothers, Dominic, Carter, and Charles. She was deeply loved by her grandparents, Faron and Donna Paulson, Sarah (Bill) Harder, and Terry (Kathi) Burd, as well as her great‑grandparents, Marjorie “Marge” Burd and Larry Harger. Chloe’s extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins will forever cherish the memories of her laughter, her kindness, and the light she brought into their lives.
Chloe’s life was a reflection of compassion, joy, and connection. She had a gift for making others feel valued and supported, and her friendships were marked by sincerity and loyalty. Though her time on earth was far too brief, the impact she made will continue to resonate in the lives of those who knew her. She was preceded in death by her uncle, Levi Burd, and other great‑grandparents, whose love and legacy she carried with her.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at the American Lutheran Church of Filley with Pastor Gary Grinvalds officiating. A family prayer service will be held at 1:30 P.M. in the fellowship room at the church.
A register book will be available for signatures on Saturday, March 28, from noon until 8:00 P.M. at Fox Funeral Home in Beatrice, with the family greeting friends from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to The National Alliance on Mental Illness, honoring Chloe’s compassionate spirit and her desire to make a difference.
